Quarterback competition continues

Indiana had over 15 players miss at least a portion of spring football, but perhaps none of them missed out on more than Kellen Lewis, the starting quarterback of two years.

Lewis, who was suspended in February for an unspecified violation of team rules, was reinstated to the team near the start of fall camp. He returned to a situation that was very different than the one he left. The Hoosiers had implemented a new offensive system, and the passing game had also taken a different look without James Hardy and James Bailey lining up on the outside.

Upon rejoining the team, Lewis had to learn the new signals and call signs that the offense uses to run the no-huddle system. A week and a half later, he says he is making strides in becoming acclimated.
