Croom's Tuesday Press Conference

Mississippi State head coach Sylvester Croom opened back up the possibility of playing multiple quarterbacks at his Tuesday press conference.
While Croom said Wesley Carroll remains the clear cut starter, he said the Bulldogs may use other options under center to boost their struggling offense.

"(Carroll) is ready to go and will be our starting quarterback," Croom said. "We may use the others just like we use any other position. Wes knows that and I've discussed it with him. In all probably likelihood we will use some of the other quarterbacks in certain ways and certain situations to try to give our offense a spark."

Carroll completed only 10-of-25 passing for 78 yards and an interception in a 3-2 loss to Auburn on Saturday. Despite some inefficiency this past weekend, Croom still believes in his sophomore signal caller.

"I'm not concerned about Wes," Croom said. "That's one of the things I like about Wes. Nobody is going to critique himself harder than Wes will critique himself."

MSU is coming off a dismal 116 yard offensive performance against the Tigers. The Bulldogs managed only six first downs and did not have a third or fourth down conversion in the game.
