Lynch addresses injuries, aftermath of loss

IU's loss to Ball State was tough to handle in more ways than one.

Not only did the Hoosiers fall to a Mid-American Conference team for the first time in 21 meetings, they also took some injuries to a defense that was already without one of its key players in safety Austin Thomas.

Thomas has a chance of playing Saturday, but the defensive secondary will be setback regardless of his status, as head coach Bill Lynch said at his press conference today that safety Nick Polk and cornerback Chris Phillips won't suit up against Michigan State.
