Many in-state recruits went head to head in Athens on Saturday when Georgia hosted Georgia Tech and one recruit in the stands knows a lot about this in-state rivalry. Kolton Houston's father played in this game years ago, so he had an idea what to expect in this game.
"This was my sixth time at the Georgia-Georgia Tech game, so I kind of knew how it was going to be," said Houston. "I have been around Georgia a lot and I am just not sure what happened to Georgia in the second half. Georgia Tech caught fire in the third quarter and Georgia just couldn't come back. I am really impressed with Georgia Tech's offense too. Georgia played hard, but Georgia Tech won the game."
Georgia Tech is a big rival of Georgia's, but another rival was first to offer Houston. South Carolina unexpectedly offered the junior and he likes what sees in the Gamecocks.
"The South Carolina offer was definitely a surprise. They had sent all the letters to my schools and I had not seen them, so Coach [Jess] Simpson (Buford Head Coach) called me into his office and let me know about the offer. It was a complete surprise to me - I was not expecting an offer this early."
Alabama and Florida have recently started showing interest in Houston and they join a long list of others like Clemson, Georgia Tech, Maryland, and Vanderbilt to name a few.
The 6-foot-5, 248 pound lineman has now visited Georgia, Georgia Tech, South Carolina, and Clemson. He talks about his visits here.
