Despite this being his first year playing football Kevin Pamphile has attracted the attention of college coaches. What made the 6 foot 5, 235-pound defensive end decide to take up football?

"It was my senior year and I had been playing basketball my whole life so I decided last spring to give it a try. I am glad I did."

"FAU, Hofstra and Purdue have all been talking to me lately," said Pamphile.

Have you scheduled any official visits?

"FAU told me they are really interested and they want me to visit in January," said Pamphile. "When they come to visit me next week hopefully we can schedule a date. They see me as a pass rushing defensive end."

What have you heard from Purdue?

"Coach (Terrell) Williams says that they are really interested in me. Coach Hope is coming Thursday to visit me at school."

Pamphile was selected to play defensive end in the prestigious Nike Dade vs. Broward all star game in January.

Last year playing center and power forward on the basketball team Pamphile averaged 12 points and 8 rebounds.
