Athletic junior DT garnering attention
One of the more intriguing prospects at Texas A&M's junior day last week was Argyle defensive tackle David Johnson. While the Eagles are known for their offense, as star receiver Brady Brown caught 170 passes over the previous two seasons, their defense has proven to be stout as well.
Leading the way on that side of the ball is Johnson, a 6-foot-2, 250-pound junior. A unanimous selection as the District 9-3A Defensive Lineman of the Year, he says he enjoyed his time in College Station.
"We went down there for a junior day last weekend," Johnson said of A&M. "It was just really informative. I think they answered a lot of questions that we had. My parents were impressed. Even besides the A&M aspect, they answered so many questions about the recruiting process that it would have been worth it no matter what. It was a good experience for sure."
In addition to the Aggies, the North Texas defender is hearing from several other programs in the early stages of his recruitment.
