Bost bringing his best for Downey
There is something about going against a big name player that seems to bring out the best in Mississippi State freshman point guard Dee Bost.
The 6-foot-2, 170-pounder has had his career-best games against some of the top point guards in the Southeastern Conference.
"I know coming into the game for me to build my rep up I have to play good against them," Bost said. "I just go out there and try to play with them."
But tonight Bost will face possibly his biggest challenge in South Carolina's Devan Downey. Downey is third in the SEC in scoring averaging 19.9 points per game.
"I know that he is pretty fast," Bost said of Downey. "He is one of the top point guards in the country. I know that he can shoot it from anywhere."
Despite being his first year in the league, Bost understands the significance of tonight's game in terms of where the Bulldogs are in hopes of reaching the postseason. MSU lost consecutive games last week and have fallen behind Western Division leader LSU by three games with only five left in the regular season.
