DC Assault has Open 17u Tryout

March 12, 2009 - Most people interested in college recruiting have heard of the DC Assault travel team/AAU organization. It's no wonder, considering the likes of former, present and future Kansas State student-athletes Michael Beasley, Wally Judge, Dominique Sutton, Jamar Samuels, Ron Anderson and Rodney McGruder are all Assault alumni that have all been hotly recruited during the last couple of years.

The list goes on, with Nolan Smith (Duke), Dante Cunningham (Villanova), Mike Davis (Illinois) and a slew of others currently in the college and pro ranks being represented. From a Hoya perspective, current Georgetown guard Austin Freeman was an Assault stalwart as was classmate Julian Vaughn, while National Basketball Association professional Jeff Green also donned the Blue and Gold.

But pursuant to the organization's mission of helping people - a mantra shared by both Curtis Malone and Damon Handon, Assault's Director and General Manger respectively - an open tryout is being held for 17 and under aged/capable players.
