Gray making return visit to Iowa

Michigan linebacker Austin Gray has been busy making college visits in recent months as he hopes to wrap up his decision before the end of spring. Up next for the 6-foot-2, 212-pound Gray is a return visit to Iowa City this weekend. This time, the linebacker, who was at Iowa's junior day three weeks ago, will make the trip with his head coach at Warren Fitzgerald High School, Jason Byers.

On Gray's last visit to Iowa, which he made with his family, the Hawkeyes extended a scholarship offer and have remained in close contact ever since. Leading Iowa's recruiting efforts is assistant coach Phil Parker, who played football at Michigan State in the 80's and has ties to the area.

Gray currently holds scholarship offers from Iowa, Michigan State, Pittsburgh, Illinois, Indiana, Central Michigan, and Toledo. The most recent addition is Pitt, whose coaching staff offered during a junior day visit two weeks ago.

While Gray remains open in his recruiting, his focus right now appears to be on primarily three schools - Iowa, Michigan State, and Pittsburgh. The linebacker has been to all three at least once and might make another round of visits before deciding this spring.
