Star QB 'amazed' by visit to Miss. State
Calhoun, Ga., quarterback Nash Nance knew plenty about Dan Mullen, his two national championships and his history of producing top signal callers.
The one thing he didn't know much about was Mullen's new program at Mississippi State.
Those questions were finally answered on Saturday when Nance traveled with his family and high school teammate/ best friend Da'Rick Rogers to Starkville to attend the Bulldogs second spring scrimmage.
"Me and Da'Rick really didn't know what to expect when we got there," Nance said. "We were amazed by the campus. We thought it was going to be just an agricultural school but we were really shocked at what the campus looked like. It was really beautiful."
The two prep standouts had heard all the stereotypes about Mississippi State and Starkville and found out quickly how false they truly were.
"We just thought it would be out in the middle of nowhere," Nance said. "But we talked with the 'Roadrunners' and they were really nice. They taught us all about all the stuff you can do at night and how everybody goes to the baseball games."
Nance and Rogers decided to visit the Auburn baseball game on Saturday afternoon with Mullen and were amazed at how many people already knew who they were in the 'Left Field Lounge'.
