Pokes Offer Three Encino Products

UW coaching staff looks to make inroads at Crespi High School in Encino, California when the staff extended three offers to quarterback Bryan Bennett, tight end Pierce Richardson, and linemen Hroniss Grasu. The Pokes hope the triple offer might give them the edge when signing day comes around in 2010.

The three teammates led Crespi to the Sierra League title and into the finals of the playoffs in their sophomore campaigns and will enter their senior seasons at the top of their respective positions.

Bennett, a 6-foot-2 and 200 pound signal caller passed for over 1600 yards and 10 touchdowns during his junior campaign. He looks to bring college recruiters a balanced quarterback with both a good arm and the ability to scramble.

"The Wyoming offer obviously opened my eyes because what they are planning on doing in the future with the offense," Bennett said. "Coach (Marcus) Arroyo came to my school and offered a scholarship and two of my teammates. They are very interested in me."

Grasu a top prospect at defensive end could be evaluated a several positions coming off first team all-state honors and likely will be rated one of the top recruits in the Los Angeles area.

Richardson, a versatile prospect in high school fits in the mold of Dave Christensen's receiving tight end. The 6-foot-3 and 210 pound target caught 10 passes for 188 yards from Bennett in 2008.
