Baldwin impressive at Ohio State camp
Solon (Ohio) defensive end Darryl Baldwin was one of many top Ohioans to head to Columbus (Ohio) for the first of two Ohio State senior advanced camps. The 6-foot-6, 250-pound defensive end didn't disappoint the assembled coaches and families with his performance under the bright lights of the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.
Baldwin turned in a reported 4.69-second (hand timed) time in the 40-yard dash on Sunday and looked like a player that was gunning for an offer rather than a player who already had an offer in place.
"I thought that I did pretty well out there," Baldwin said.
Baldwin has been no stranger to the Ohio State campus or the camp scene for the Buckeyes and while Baldwin has had a chance to take in games and practices before he also was in his second go-around for a senior advanced camp.
"I really liked this camp more than last year's because we got to do the 40 (yard dash), the shuttle and there were just more things to do for us," Baldwin said.
Recently Baldwin cut his list of potential schools down to a much smaller and more manageable number.
"I have narrowed it down to four," Baldwin said. "Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan State and Notre Dame
so I am just going to take my time and weigh my options and see where it goes."
While a decision for Baldwin could come in the next couple of weeks or next couple of months it is sure that Ohio State will weigh heavy in his decision making process, especially with the amount of exposure the Buckeyes receiver throughout the state.
"They win championships, they find a way to win all of the time," Baldwin said. "The coaches really seem like they are family oriented and I want to be treated as family when I go to a college (program)."
