First big offer for Wynn
Piscataway, N.J., wide receiver Jawaun Wynn has always been confident in his abilities, but until recently the only offer he had received was from Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island.
This last weekend the 6-foot-3, 185-pound receiver attended a camp at the University of Connecticut. Not long after that he received some news that completely changed the dynamics of the recruiting process.
"I received an offer from UConn," Wynn reported on Wednesday. "I went to their camp on Saturday, June 20. They offered me sometime after the camp."
There appears to be a lot of mutual interest between the two parties involved.
"They said I have tremendous athleticism," he said of the Huskies' coaching staff. "They liked my hands, too. They said I could be a big asset and I'm what they're looking for.
"I like the school a lot. I met with the coaches and got along well with them. I feel like we're on the same page. It's what I'm looking for. I'm high on their program."
Did Wynn think about committing upon hearing the news?
"I'm gonna wait a little while and see what comes along," he said. "I'm not trying to make my decision too early."
Wynn will be at Boston College on Saturday and then at Maryland on Monday.
