Montana ATH names a top five
Montana may not be the hotbed for college football recruiters, but football is big in the Big Sky state and Oregon State has capitalized in the past landing Pernnell Booth from Billings in 2004 and Tyler Thomas from Kalispell last year. The Beavers are now keeping an eye on three-star all-around athlete Matt Miller from Helena (Mont.) Capital High.
Miller has it all. At 6-foot-4, 204 pounds, he plays quarterback, wide receiver, cornerback and safety for the Bruins. He is also a standout for the Bruins on the basketball court and track and is very active in the community and a star in the classroom as well. With ten offers on the table, Miller and his family took the time earlier this summer to visit a few PAC 10 programs, and while he walked away impressed with all of them, it didn't help him narrow things down much.
"We visited Arizona State, Stanford, Oregon and Oregon State," Miller said. "I really liked them all, everyone treated me well and it really didn't make anything easier."
While it had been reported that Miller had an offer from the Beavers, he clarified that he has not received a scholarship offer from Oregon State, but that he is still very impressed with the Beavers who are holding off to see additional senior year film before bestowing an offer.
