V-Cast: Comp and PK with analysis on loss to CMU
EAST LANSING - Several breaks had to go Central Michigan's way in order for Central Michigan to secure their first win over the Spartans since 1992.
After the game, press conference, and player interviews were over, SpartanMag.com staffers Jim Comparoni stepped outside Spartan Stadium to give their intial thoughts on what went right for CMU and what went wrong for the Spartans.
Among the topics discussed by Comp and PK was Central's complete break from the tendencies they showed in the first game of the season against Arizona.
Against Arizona, the CMU offense intermediate and deep routes instead of the short routes that the Chippewa's had success with against the Spartans. And against Arizona CMU was unable to stop the "Power O."
Against Michigan State, CMU was dramatically better at defending the "Power O" and they they nickle and dimed the Spartans underneath with short passing routes.
Of the many questions posed in the V-Cast was whether or not Michigan State was too stubborn in staking itself to the ground game in the second half when the Spartans had so much success in the passing game with Kirk Cousins.
