Tuesday's Top Tigers

Tuesday's Top Tigers makes its return to PowerMizzou.com. A player's ranking one week has no bearing on his placement on the list the next week. This is our list of the 11 Tigers who had, in our opinion, the best performances in the 40-32 loss to Baylor:

Tuesday's Top Tigers
1 Danario Alexander, WR For the fourth time this season, Alexander set a career-high in yardage. This time he had 214 on 13 catches. Imagine what he could have done if the Tigers had thrown him more than three passes after halftime. 3
2 Sean Weatherspoon, LB Yes, the defense was really bad. But Spoon was really good. Again. He had 11 tackles, including 1.5 for a loss. 1
3 Blaine Gabbert, QB The offense sputtered in the second half, but Gabbert did throw for the second-most yards in school history. He had 322 in the best half of football a Missouri quarterback has played in quite a while. NR
4 Dominique Hamilton, DT Hamilton had a career-best eight tackles and a sack. He has improved perhaps more than any player on the roster since the Illinois game. 11
5 Grant Ressel, PK Ressel made two three field goals, two from 46 yards and is one of the country's best kickers. NR
6 Kendial Lawrence, TB Lawrence made what, at the time, looked like a huge play with a kickoff return that set up Missouri's final first half touchdown. He also averaged 7.5 yards a carry. It's not his fault he only had two of them. NR
7 Jared Perry, WR Without a couple of costly second half drops, he'd be much higher. But Perry did have seven catches for 145 yards and gave the Tigers a second receiving threat for the first time in a month. NR
8 De'Vion Moore, TB Take what we said about Lawrence and repeat it. He averaged four yards a carry and should have had far more than the four chances he got. 7
9 Aldon Smith, DE Smith crept closer to the single-season record with his ninth sack against Baylor. 2
10 Jake Harry, P Harry looked like he had turned the tide with a punt that rolled dead inside the one and set the Tigers up for a safety. NR
11 Jaron Baston, DT Baston helped almost totally eliminate the Baylor ground game and got some pressure on the quarterback. NR
