Fiedorowicz makes the switch

The Johnsburg native originally committed to Illinois in July over scholarship offers from Iowa, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, and dozens of others. As the 2009 season unfolded however, he began looking around and focused in on the Hawkeyes, citing how much they utilize the tight end position in their offense and the coaching staff as the primary reasons.
Fiedorowicz, who will play in the U.S. Army All-American Game in January, led Johnsburg to an 8-4 record this season. On the year, he caught 44 passes for 921 yards and 15 touchdowns, earning first team all-state honors. Fiedorowicz finished his high school career with 42 touchdown receptions, just one shy of an Illinois state record.
