Arkansas QB commits to Auburn

One of Auburn's top overall targets and one of the nation's premier quarterback prospects has committed to the Tigers.

Shiloh Christian's Kiehl Frazier, 6-foot-3, 215 pounds from Springdale, Ark., announced his decision to sign with Auburn following Big Cat Weekend. He is the Tigers' seventh commitment and first quarterback.

"It's just the family feel," Frazier said of Auburn. "The coaches are great. They are honest and straightforward. I really like it at Auburn."

Frazier has more than 30 scholarship offers including ones from Arkansas, Miami, Notre Dame, Florida, LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Clemson, UCLA and West Virginia. He chose Auburn after narrowing his list to Arkansas, Miami, Notre Dame and UCLA.

Frazier is being recruited by Auburn offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Gus Malzahn, a former head coach at Shiloh Christian.

"He played a huge role," said Frazier. "He was the first to offer me when he was at Tulsa. He's a great coach and a great person. I'm familiar with his offense. We still run the basics of it at Shiloh."

Frazier was one of approximately 35 recruits on the Tigers' campus this weekend as Auburn brought back one of its more successful recruiting events from last year. Big Cat Weekend attracted dozens of high-profile recruits to the Plains on unofficial visits a year ago, and did the same in '10.

Rivals.com rated Frazier a Rivals250 to Watch prospect in the 2011 class. Auburn also signed Michael Dyer and Dakota Mosley out of Arkansas in February. The Tigers remain in contention for a few other Arkansas standouts including offensive tackles Brey Cook and Mitch Smothers.
