Johnnies five game streak ends

NEW YORK (AP) Andrew Nicholson's shot with 5.2 seconds left gave St. Bonaventure a 67-66 win over St. John's on Tuesday night.

Nicholson finished with 19 points and 13 rebounds, and had his second-straight game winner. His other was with 6.8 seconds left in a 76-74 win over Buffalo on Dec. 4.

Michael Davenport scored 22 points and the Atlantic 10's Co-Player of the Week, Ogo Adegboye, had 10. The Bonnies' (5-2) starters played all but 13 minutes against St. John's (5-2).
St. Bonaventure outrebounded the Red Storm 41-30, while St. John's scored 21 points off of 19 turnovers.

Despite the turnovers, St. Bonaventure gained an edge at the free-throw line. The Bonnies were 18 of 22 (81.8 percent) from the foul line, compared to just 10 of 20 shooting by the Red Storm.

Dwight Hardy scored 24 points on 10-of-18 shooting to lead St. John's, which had a five-game winning streak snapped.
