Hall, Brown and Howard are all no-go's for Toledo

The Buckeyes will be without Corey Brown, Travis Howard and Jordan Hall for another game after the NCAA released a statement on Friday evening contradicting what everyone was led to believe after the players sat out a week for impermissible benefits.

A report in the Columbus Dispatch on Thursday stated that the players received 200-dollars for participating in a charity event at some point during the 2011 calendar year. The report went on to state that two other players were at the event as well but did not receive cash. The event itself and the other names were redacted.

"The nature and scope of their violations merit a minimum two-game suspension," said the NCAA in a statement released on its website. "In addition, the facts submitted by the university have raised further questions that need to be answered before the reinstatement process is complete."

This does bring up questions however as to how the NCAA deems the severity of penalties with several University of Miami players missing only one game after allegedly receiving money stemming from the Nevin Shapiro scandal. University of Florida defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd is sitting out a total of two games for receiving 2700 dollars worth of aid during his recruiting process and before signing with the Gators.

The Buckeyes are still waiting to find out what the NCAA has in store for them from infractions that involved several players in a tattoo for merchandise trading scheme, a scandal that ended up costing former head coach Jim Tressel his job with the Buckeyes.

It remains to be seen if the players will be deemed eligible after this weekend in advance of the team's trip to Miami to take on the Hurricanes in the first road game of the season. The Buckeyes do regain Jordan Whiting off of his one-game NCAA mandated suspension. Offensive lineman Corey Linsley is set to come off of his two-game suspension for a violation of team rules after the Toledo game. Mike Adams, DeVier Posey and Dan Herron will still miss a total of five games and will be back in time for Ohio State's game with Nebraska.
