Protect the ball

As if Nebraska needed to give Ohio State any help at all, the Huskers literally gave the gave away to the Buckeyes by turning the ball over a staggering 27 times in the loss, marking the most turnovers ever in head coach Doc Sadler's six seasons in Lincoln. While OSU's stingy defense was responsible for several of those, Nebraska gave the ball away just as many times simply with unforced errors that could have easily been prevented. The Huskers may be looking at tonight's game as the start of a second season, so to speak, but nothing is going to change as long as they continue to make things so easy on their opponents by not taking care of the basketball.
Make easy shots

As bad as things as things ended up in Nebraska's 34-point loss to the Buckeyes, the Huskers were actually still very much in the game midway through the first half. The problem, along with the turnovers, was NU couldn't manage to make a number of easy shots that would have at least kept the game within reach closer to halftime. By failing to convert bunnies close to the basket, Nebraska struggled to gain much offensive confidence and was never really able to get into a shooting rhythm. Against an Iowa team averaging 73.1 points per game this season, the Huskers will be well served to take advantage of every scoring opportunity they get.
Forget Ohio State

As much as Sadler has said Nebraska could learn from Saturday's record-setting loss to Ohio State, his players are doing everything they can to put that game as far behind them as possible. Many players didn't even bother to watch film from the game this week in practice, which is probably a good idea as far as preserving any sort of self-confidence is concerned. The Huskers' schedule gets a whole lot easier in the final 10 games compared to the previous eight, so there's still hope that they can find a way to turn things around and make one last push towards the post-season. Reliving what happened against the Buckeyes would do little to help kick start a potential late-season run.

Head coach Doc Sadler on Nebraska's approach to the final 10 games:

"We've still got to approach it as one game at a time. Because even though maybe some of these teams don't have the reputation or don't have whatever that some of these other teams have, as I told the team yesterday, I think you are in a situation where there's a lot of cases that on that particular night, you've just got to play better, because you've got a chance in every game."

Junior forward Brandon Ubel on the rest of the schedule, starting with Iowa tonight:

"Definitely there are more games that we feel like that we have a lot better shot to win, but that's not saying that any of these are any easier. It's basically a coin flip. Going on the road to Iowa and going on the road to Northwestern these next two games, I mean, you just toss it up and see what happens.
