Walker flips from Nebraska to Auburn

Auburn landed commitment number two on Friday, as Orlando (Fla.) Evans three-star receiver Dominic Walker committed to the Tigers live on 810 AM CBS Sports-Orlando.

"My decision is Auburn University," Walker told AuburnSports.com on Friday.

Walker was previously committed to Nebraska before flipping. Walker joins Hutchinson C.C. (Kan.) linebacker Kenny Flowers as Friday commitments. Walker is commitment No. 18 for Auburn.

"I chose what school I thought would be best for me," Walker said during his radio interview. "I have the support at Auburn that I have right here in Orlando, Florida. I can still communicate with everyone. Coach (Gus) Malzahn told me they are looking for me to compete. He said we're going to throw the ball deep like we did in high school."

Walker, at 6-foot-2, 196-pounds, chose Auburn over Nebraska, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami (FL), Miss. State, South Carolina, Tennessee and more. Walker spoke to both programs on Thursday night, asking all the important questions. He simply liked Auburn's answers better.

"I asked both how I would fit into their program, and everything at Auburn sounded good. I fell in love with their words," Walker told AuburnSports.com. "I believed in Auburn and I believe in they will put me on the field early and I'll have a good chance of playing and starting. I trust them and it felt good."

Walker joins his Evans High School teammate Tony Stevens in the Tigers' recruiting class. Stevens pledged last Sunday when both Stevens and Walker officially visited Auburn.

"My mother always wanted us to play on the same team, and Tony's mom said the same thing," Walker said on Wednesday. "Auburn is close to home also, so both our moms can come watch us play."

The Florida pass catcher watched his stock rise last spring before committing to Vanderbilt in June. In September, Walker visited Nebraska and upon leaving his visit, decided to open his recruitment up and evaluate his options. Walker committed to Nebraska in late December.

Walker is done with his recruitment and sill sign with the Tigers on signing day. Walker caught 38 passes for 628 yards and five touchdowns as a senior.
