Campbell to Jets: Several sign free agent deals

Michigan defensive tackle Will Campbell went to the New York Jets in the sixth round of the 2013 draft Saturday, becoming the second (and last) Wolverine drafted.

Campbell was a four-year letterwinner and appeared in 51 career games at Michigan. As a senior in 2012, he led the defensive line and totaled a career-high 44 tackles, 1.5 TFLs and one sack in 13 games. Campbell helped lead a Wolverines defense that allowed just 19.8 points per game, ranking fourth in the Big Ten and 20th nationally in scoring defense. Michigan's defense also ranked second in the Big Ten and 13th in the FBS in total yards allowed (320.0 yards per game).

Campbell was chosen in the sixth round with the 178th overall choice and joins former U-M linebacker David Harris (2004-06) with the Jets. Denard Robinson was U-M's other pick, going to Jacksonville in the fifth round.

  • Craig Roh, Carolina Panthers
