By The Numbers: Title-Winning QBs have all the fun
Michigan is hopeful Devin Gardner will lead the Wolverines to a conference title this season, and to do so, he might have to put up some big numbers. Among the 13 full-time starters on championship teams last fall, QBs averaged 3,283 yards.
A year ago, Gardner completed only 59.5 percent of his passes while Denard Robinson completed just 53.3 percent.
The last Michigan QB to complete better than 64.0 percent of his passes was Todd Collins (64.6) in 1994, while Elvis Grbac did it twice, Jim Harbaugh once and Bob Ptacek holds the U-M single-season record at 65.2 percent in 1956 (though he attempted only 23 passes).
