Updated Visitors List: Akron 2013

A lackluster opponent leads to an underwhelming visitors list. However, several prospects for the future (and a few 2014 commits) should be on campus for the game against Akron.

Commits

Southfield (Mich.) defensive end Lawrence Marshall
Marshall plans to make it to all of Michigan's home games, as long as he doesn't have a scheduling conflict. So far, he's two-for-two, and will make it this weekend. The 6-4, 230-pound three-star is a high school teammate of fellow defensive lineman Malik McDowell.

Beverly Hills (Mich.) Detroit Country Day wide receiver Maurice Ways
Ways had to miss the Central Michigan game, and along with his scheduled absence from the Under The Lights II game against Notre Dame (his Country Day team had a night game last Saturday), he has yet to take in a Michigan game as a commit. He plans to be there this weekend, however.

Underclassmen

2016 Detroit Cass Tech cornerback Lavert Hill
Hill has a good excuse for making it to most of Michigan's games: his older brother, Delano, is a freshman contributor for the Maize and Blue. The 5-9, 160-pound Lavert isn't quite as big as Delano, but he's every bit as talented. He has good athleticism and coverage skills that could be elite by the time he graduates from Cass.

2016 Detroit Cass Tech offensive lineman Michael Onwenu
Onwenu made the trip with Cass Tech head coach Thomas Wilcher and wide receivers coach Cash Caldwell last weekend for Notre Dame, and plans to be back for the Akron contest. The 6-2, 340-pounder plays mostly offensive line for the Technicians - that's where he's needed most - but his build is ideal for a nose tackle at the Division I level.

2016 Detroit Cass Tech wide receiver Demetric Vance
Vance has hoped to make it to each of Michigan's first two games, but has been unable to take the trip thus far. He's trying to change that this weekend, planning to see his first Michigan game. The 6-3, 180-pounder is a big target on the outside, and he could change the perception of Cass Tech as a "mighty mite" factory by the time he graduates.

2016 Huntersville (N.C.) Southlake Christian Academy running back Robert Washington
Washington visited Ann Arbor unofficially for the Wolverines 2013 summer camp, at which time the 5-10, 190-pounder caught the eye of Michigan's coaching staff. Although he was committed to Mississippi State at the time, Washington has since backed off that pledge and is considering several schools, including Michigan. Several prospects from his high school, including 2016 wideout Conner O'Donnell, may join him.

2017 Orchard Lake (Mich.) St. Mary's linebacker Joshua Ross
As is the case with Hill, Ross has an older brother on the team. 2012 St. Mary's grad James Ross is a sophomore starter at weakside linebacker for Michigan. Even though Joshua is five years younger, he's already taller at 6-2, and his 190 pounds should fill out in the next few years. He already shows flashes of the same instincts that made James such a special player.

Stay tuned over the next couple days for updates to the list, and on Saturday morning for the full roster of those spotted.
