This Weekend: Major Visitors Listed

With the collective heads of Husker fans down and out about the recent news of Tommy Zbikowski to Notre Dame and many other Nebraska targets committing elsewhere this weekend could be refreshing. Lance Broadus, Mike Jenkins, Titus Brothers, Jeremy Harrell, Tierre Green and several in-state commitments will be in Lincoln this weekend, and the new Nebraska coaching staff is hoping to garner some commitments. The best chance could be with underrated Nebraska homebody, Tierre Green. Many of these recruits will be looking to make their decisions following this visit. Expect either a bonanza of commitments to Nebraska or many more reasons to lambaste the Husker recruiting efforts. Either way, this should turn out to be a big weekend. Thank you to PJ for his wonderful work in putting this update together!

What looked like a sure thing a couple months ago now looks like we will have to lay down the red carpet for Jenkins this weekend. After visiting Auburn last weekend Jenkins came back with Auburn in the lead. He will also visit Clemson. Fabian Washington will most likely be the host for this stud cornerback, and since they are good friends I do like the chances. Landing two cornerbacks from Bradenton, Florida in two years is huge. With the need at corner and only one locked up Jenkins would be a huge get for the Huskers.

Another must get cornerback, Brothers seems to have narrowed his list down to TCU and Nebraska. With Marvin Sanders in the home Wednesday night and TCU in the home Thursday night neither school is backing off much. Titus had a disappointing season as far as statistics go simply because they never threw the ball his way. He says he would have been lucky to have them throw his way once a game. With his speed and Texas roots this is another must get corner.

Decision Time: "I don't know right now. I might decide after Nebraska, and I might not."

From top team to no interest and back to one of the top teams. Nebraska's recruiting seasons with Broadus has been nothing short of a roller coaster ride. Broadus once called Oklahoma his leader, but Oregon has led since his visit with them in November. Speaking with Lance he is very eager to take a look at Nebraska. Marvin Sanders and Tim Albin were in the household on Wednesday night, and he seems to really like both of them. A couple things working against Broadus is that he has never really been outside of California in January, and his mom likes Oregon quite a bit. Keep your fingers crossed on this one -- this could be the all important difference maker we have been looking for.

Decision Time: Following Nebraska visit. "I'm getting a little tired of the whole process. I think I'll try to get this thing done with after the Nebraska visit. If the Nebraska visit is good I will commit there."

Green is a late bloomer of sorts into the recruiting equation for Nebraska this year. He is being recruited as a running back or linebacker by the Husker coaching staff. Green has been a diehard Husker fan since he was eight years old. The cousin of Ahman Green is also being recruited by San Jose State and other Division Two schools. Green does not have an offer from Nebraska just yet, but he says: "I believe I will get one on the visit. I'm just waiting to see what the coaches say." If Nebraska were to offer he says he probably would not commit on the visit.

"I think I would have to examine everything. I don't think I would commit on the visit because I really want to play running back. I'm better at that position."

Decision Time: "It might go down to the last couple days before February 5th."

Harrell, a former UCLA commit, is an intriguing offensive line prospect at the guard position. He came back from his Oklahoma State visit talking about a possible commit along with Brad Girtman. Well, with Girtman in the bag for the Cowboys could Harrell be next. Calls from Huskers Illustrated went unanswered, but it seems he is still scheduled to visit. Harrell is excited about visiting Nebraska, and there is still an outside chance Nebraska could bring him in.

Decision Time: Following visit to Texas Tech
