NFL Updates: Brady, Manning will face off again

Tom Brady has beaten Peyton Manning-led teams 10 of 14 times when the two have gone head to head. They'll meet again Sunday in the AFC Championship Game at Denver, where the New England Patriots will attempt to make their sixth Super Bowl appearance (and win their fourth) with Brady at the helm.

Brady told the "Dennis & Callahan Show" on WEEI sports radio in Boston today a win in Denver would be as satisfying a victory as he's ever had, calling his team the underdog.

"I think we've overcome a lot of things, a lot of injuries, and we've had some amazing comebacks to get to this situation where we finished the regular season 12-4 with a lot of players filling some big roles over the course of the year," Brady said. "And then having really played our best football the last three weeks, and now to get a chance to go play one of the best teams in the league, it's everything you could ask for. This is what football is all about."

New England overcame a 24-point deficit to beat the Broncos in Foxboro, Mass., earlier this year.

"This game is going to come down to who plays the best, and we'll be able to take some things that we did when we played and study them and prepare for them, but we'll have different things to do, they'll have different things to do," he said. "Their team is different than when they played us, and we're pretty different than when we played them."

Brady and San Francisco starting center Jon Goodwin are the only two Wolverines left standing, though former Michigan quarterback Jim Harbaugh coaches the 49ers and Mario Manningham in on San Fran's injured reserve. Here's how the former Wolverines in the NFL fared in playoff action.
