Signing Day lookahead

The final days before National Signing Day are upon us, and this is the best way to keep track of all of Michigan's top targets in the 2014 class as the Wolverines fill the final few spots of their recruiting class.

Recent 2014 updates:

Below we'll take a look at next weekend's visitors along with all of the remaining targets on Michigan's board.
University of Michigan Remaining Targets

Malik McDowell
6-6, 292 pounds
Southfield (Mich.) High School
Primary Recruiters: Greg Mattison, Fred Jackson
Strongside defensive end ranking: No. 2
Rivals250 ranking: No. 26

Level of Interest: High

Others: Michigan State, Florida State, Ohio State, Alabama, LSU, Florida

PREDICTION: Michigan State

Video Reel

The Skinny: McDowell is a lifelong U-M fan, but the Wolverines' shaky season may have opened the door for other programs. Michigan was the first bigtime school to show interest, but a host of SEC and ACC teams are in the mix, in addition to regional powers Michigan State and Ohio State. With MSU's strong season in 2013, it may be tough for Michigan to overcome the momentum of the Spartans.

Jeff Jones
6-0, 198 pounds
Minneapolis (Minn.) Washburn
Primary Recruiters: Fred Jackson, Doug Nussmeier
Running back Ranking: No. 7
Rivals100 Ranking: No. 44

Level of Interest: MEDIUM

Others: Minnesota (committed), Florida, Iowa State, Michigan State

Video Reel

The Skinny: Michigan looked to be in strong position when they offered, but at this point, the U-M coaching staff may have moved on from recruiting players at the position. Jones is a longtime Minnesota commitment, but Michigan State (which no longer has room with two backs in the fold), Florida, and Iowa State have all entered the mix. The Florida visit he has planned for Jan. 24 seems to be recreational more than anything, so he likely sticks with the Gophers. Decision Date: N/A

Marlon Mack
5-11, 192 pounds
Sarasota (Fla.) Booker
Primary Recruiters: Jeff Hecklinski, Fred Jackson
Running back ranking: N/A
Florida ranking: No. 89

Level of Interest: Low

Others: UCLA, Louisville, USF

PREDICTION: Louisville

Video Reel

The Skinny: Mack picked up a Michigan offer less than a week ago, but already it seems the Michigan coaching staff has moved on. He's no longer planning a Michigan official visit - though he'd never set a date in the first place. He recently decommitted from UCLA, and took an official visit to Louisville - who appears to be the new favorite - over the weekend. Decision Date: N/A
