Michigan to face Syracuse in ACC-Big Ten Challenge

The full ACC-Big Ten Challenge schedule will be released at 4:00 Thursday, but reports have surfaced that Michigan will host Syracuse in one of the competition's more intriguing match-ups.

Times and television information for the Big Ten-ACC Challenge will be released later.

Both teams will look different than their 2013-14 squads. Michigan lost big man Jordan Morgan to graduation and sophomores Glenn Robinson III, Nik Stauskas and Mitch McGary to the NBA, while Syracuse lost scorers C.J. Fair, Tyler Ennis and Jerami Grant. The Orange return Trevor Cooney, a 12.1-ppg scorer and one of their best shooters and forward Rakeem Christmas (5.8 ppg, 5.1 rpg) and have Rivals.com's No. 20 recruiting class nationally, a two-man class of five-star forward Chris McCullough and four-star guard Kaleb Joseph.

The Wolverines last faced the Orangemen in the 2013 NCAA Final Four, winning 61-56 to advance to the National Championship game. Head coach John Beilein stands only 1-9 career against Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim, with many of the games played when Beilein was at West Virginia.

The ACC holds a 10-3-2 edge since the series began. The conferences have tied six games each in the last two meetings. Michigan is 5-8 in the event, losing last year at Duke.
