Hoops: Another 2015 top 50 considering Michigan

Michigan continues to cast a wider net with class of 2015 prospects. Three have been offered, and Henderson, Nev., Findlay Prep's Dillon Brooks could be next in line.

Brooks is solidly built at 6-5, 205, and always plays hard. The Canadian and CIA Bounce AAU standout was outstanding facing the United States in the FIBA U-18 Championships in late June, putting up 29 points and nine rebounds against some of the U.S. team's best.

Michigan has made an impression recently, in part because of another Canadian's success in Ann Arbor.

"Michigan, Michigan State, Iowa State, Syracuse, Rhode Island, Houston and UNLV," he said when asked who was recruiting him hard. "I like how Nik Stauskas went to the NBA from Michigan, how he worked on his game. They let them freestyle a bit, do what they wanted. They play ball and go hard."

Brooks also has a good relationship with UNLV given that a former Findlay coach, Todd Simon, is now a Rebels assistant. He has yet to set up a visit schedule, however, intent on waiting until after the July Peach Jam to set an itinerary.
