Nation's No. 1 player loves first trip
Adrian Peterson think of his visit to UCLA and did the Bruin's huge victory over Washington make an impact on the 6-foot-3, 210-pound five-star prospect. The nation's No. 1 player is back from his first official visit. So what did
"UCLA definitely moved up my list," Peterson said. "You know I wasn't too sure what I was going to see on the visit because I saw UCLA get beat by Oklahoma pretty handily a few weeks ago, and I wasn't that impressed. But they were like a totally different team and they all showed a different attitude."
Peterson, ranked as the No. 1 player in the nation and the top running back recruit by Rivals.com, said everything about the visit was positive.
"They showed me around campus and my guide's name was Monica," Peterson said. "She was very nice and answered all of the questions that I had when we were walking around campus checking things out. I'm not going to forget about her."
But Peterson said he also liked what he saw on the football side of things.
"They're getting better every day and in every game," he said. "I saw a tremendous amount of improvement and the offense looked great and it'd be a great situation for me because they like to play their young running backs. I like what the future looks like at UCLA."
Peterson, however, said he's still a long way from a decision and hopes to take in several more unofficial visits and games before he makes his pick.
"I was thinking about speeding things up a little bit, but the more I thought about it the more I owe it to myself to take my time and look things over very carefully," Peterson said. "I'm going to the OU-Texas game this weekend. It's an unofficial visit. It'll be a great chance to see both OU and Texas again."
Texas, OU, UCLA, Texas A&M and Miami remain the core group on his list. He had mentioned a leader in previous updates, but Peterson said at this point they're all "high on his list."
