Hall Backing Off Gators?

In the early part of recruiting, D.J. Hall of Fort Walton Beach (Fla.) Choctawhatchee thought for sure he was going to verbally commit to the Florida Gators at the conclusion of Choctawhatchee's season. With the season nearing an end, don't expect a verbal from Hall anytime soon. The 6-3, 185-pound wide receiver is listening to other teams and weighing his options before he commits to any team.

"I am not sure yet," Hall said about verbally committing to Florida after the season.

While he keeps folks on wait, especially Gator fans, Hall has been busy taking unofficial visits. Hall has been to two FSU games (Georgia Tech, Miami) and saw Northern Illinois upset Alabama.

"Well all of them were good games," Hall said.

They may have all been good games to watch but the Northern Illinois upset stands out the most.

"The Alabama fans really don't get that down so it was surprising the whole time. They were in shock," Hall said.

But even with the loss, the Crimson Tide gained ground on the Gators. In fact so has Florida State. But Hall is quick to say that the Gators are still the team to beat.

"Yeah, they are," Hall said.

FSU is the number two team on Hall's list followed by Alabama and then LSU. Hall has offers from the Gators, Tigers and Tide but does not have one from the Seminoles, who he is hoping will come through with an offer.

"I have grown up a Florida State fan," Hall said.

But at this time, the Seminoles have not hinted anything about offering Hall.

Hall has plans to attend the FSU-UF game Thanksgiving weekend. He also has plans to set up his official visits after the season, where the picture will become a little bit more clear and Hall can then make a decision on where to play football.

"When I take my visits and see how I like it on campus," said Hall about the deciding factors on choosing a school.
