Woods cancels visit

Five star defensive lineman Al Woods cancelled his official visit to Ole Miss this weekend.

According to Woods, who was walking into Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, La. to watch the New Orleans Saints take on Tampa Bay, he decided late Friday that he would not take his official visit to Ole Miss.

"I thought about it until late Friday and decided not to go," Woods said.

When asked why he didn't take his visit or whether he called the Ole Miss coaches to inform them of his decision, Woods had no comment.

The move makes it all the more likely that Woods will stick to his commitment with LSU.

According to earlier interviews with Woods, the Ole Miss coaches made a strong push to at least get a visit from the LSU commitment. He said in an October 19 interview with Rivals.com that he would at least take a visit to Ole Miss, but it appears that won't happen anytime soon.

Woods is rated five stars by Rivals.com and is ranked the No. 10 overall prospect in the nation. He is a consensus pick as both the top player in Louisiana and the top defensive tackle in the nation.
