Seminoles land Georgia WR

video Brent Brewer scouting video

The writing has been on the wall for a few days and two-sport standout Brent Brewer made it official over the weekend and committed to Florida State.

"I just felt like I had to be there," Brewer told Warchant.com. "I fit in good with the players, the coaches are nice and I can come in and play the position that I like. I can also play baseball too. The campus and everything was good, I just loved it."

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound wide receiver was hosted on his visit by Lorenzo Booker, Xavier Lee and Myron Rolle.

In addition to clicking with the players and coaches and loving FSU's campus, Brewer cites his friendship with quarterback D'Vontrey Richardson, who committed to the 'Noles last summer, as a big reason for his decision to come to Tallahassee. The two met last year at a baseball combine and have been friends ever since.

In addition to checking all that the Seminole football program had to offer, the three-star wide receiver also got a close-up look at the FSU baseball facilities. He also met with the head coach Mike Martin and his staff and that pushed him over the edge for FSU.

"I already knew they were good before I came anyway," said Brewer. "When I got there it just made me just more shocked at how good they are. I know they have a couple players leaving so when I come in next year me and D'Vontrey are going to play baseball and we can't wait."

In baseball, Brewer plays shortstop and centerfield.

Brewer, who hopes to wear jersey No. 1 at FSU, selected the 'Noles over Georgia and Mississippi State. He is on track to qualify.
