Two Florida Outfielders Accept Cape Invitations

Every Monday and Friday we will announce more players named to the 2nd Annual Baseball Express Cape Cod High School Classic

Two of Florida's top high school outfielders have accepted invitations to play in the 2nd Annual Baseball Express Cape Cod High School Classic July 28th.

Hunter Ovens is ranked by Baseball America/Prospects Plus as the No. 28 overall prospect nationally in the Class of 2007 and the fifth highest ranked outfielder in the nation.

He's an imposing 6-2 and 220 pounds and bats and throws right. Ovens is from Bradenton, Florida and attends Cardinal Mooney High School. He plays centerfield.

Ovens is also a national football recruit as well. According to Rivals.com, Ovens has been offered a football scholarship to Virginia Tech and is being courted by numerous Division I football programs.

The second Florida high school outfielder is Joey Manning from Bartow High School in Florida.

Manning stands 6-4 and weighs 220 pounds. He's a centerfielder who also plays left field as well. Manning bats and throws right-handed and draws high praise from scouts for his rare combination of size, strength and speed. Also a top student as well, Manning is being heavily recruited by many top Division I schools across the country.
