Noel goes to the Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks needed athleticism and defense. They added it Wednesday night with the No. 39 overall pick in the NBA Draft. The Bucks selected North Carolina standout David Noel, an emotional leader and versatile forward. Noel went from a one-time football signee at UNC to a walk-on for the basketball team to a national champion to a team captain to now a professional player in the NBA.

The 6-6 jumping-jack was the heart and soul of last season's 23-8 team that placed second in the ACC.

Late last season head coach Roy Williams declared Noel as the player "more responsible for a team's success than maybe any player who has ever played (at North Carolina)."

Noel averaged 12.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.1 steals per game as a senior. He also shot 53-percent from the field and 42-percent behind the 3-point line.
