- Stanford head men's swimming coach Skip Kenney, after leading the Cardinal to their 26th consecutive Pac-10 title - by 333.5 points over second-place California.



More water is at the Creek and it is still in the pool as the conference championship in men's swimming was completed and to absolutely nobody's surprise, Stanford won their 26th consecutive conference crown.

In women's hoop, the Pac-10 conference tournament begins this week and runs from Friday through Sunday at the HP Pavilion in San Jose.

Meanwhile at NCAA HQ, the Academics/Eligibility/Compliance cabinet is reviewing legislative proposals regarding academic eligibility certification and financial aid issues.




UCLA

In men's hoop, UCLA swept California and Stanford to improve to 25-3 overall and 14-2 in conference play with a 1 RPI.

In women's hoop, the Bruins were swept by California and Stanford to drop to 13-17 overall and 7-11 in conference play with a 102 RPI.




Washington

In men's hoop, the Huskies were swept by Oregon and Oregon State to drop to 16-12 overall and 6-10 in conference play with a 98 RPI. Guard recruit Venoy Overton switched his verbal commitment from USC to Washington.

In women's hoop, Washington swept Oregon and Oregon State to improve to 18-11 overall and 11-7 in conference play with a 36 RPI.



Oregon

In men's hoop, the Ducks swept Washington and WSU to improve to 22-7 overall and 11-7 in conference play with a 25 RPI. Freshman guard Tajuan Porter was named as the conference's player of the week.

In women's hoop, the Ducks beat WSU but lost to Washington to move to 16-12 overall and 8-10 in conference play with a 93 RPI.



Oregon State

Football special teams coach Bruce Read has left to become special teams coach for the NFL's Dallas Cowboys.

In men's hoop, the Beavers defeated Washington but lost to WSU to move to 11-19 overall and 3-14 in conference play with a 183 RPI.

In women's hoop, Oregon State lost to Washington and beat WSU to move to 9-18 overall and 4-14 in conference play with a 200 RPI.



Arizona State

In men's hoop, Arizona State lost to rival Arizona to drop to 7-20 overall and 1-15 in conference play with a 227 RPI.

In women's hoop, the Sun Devils beat rival Arizona to improve to 26-3 overall and 16-2 in conference play with a 16 RPI.

Head women's soccer coach Ray Leone resigned to take the head coaching job at Harvard.




Arizona

The Wildcats signed receiver Caleb Charlow to a letter of intent.

In men's hoop, Arizona beat rival Arizona State to improve to 19-8 overall and 9-7 in conference play with a 15 RPI.

In women's hoop, the Wildcats lost to rival Arizona State to fall to 10-20 overall and 4-14 in conference play with a 121 RPI.



Stanford

Stanford hired Western Michigan secondary coach Clayton White as their new secondary coach in football.

In men's hoop, the Cardinal were swept by USC and UCLA to drop to 17-10 overall and 9-7 in conference play with a 41 RPI.

In women's hoop, the Cardinal won their seventh consecutive Pac-10 title outright with a sweep over UCLA and USC to improve to 25-4 overall and 17-1 in conference play with an 11 RPI.



California

In men's hoop, California was swept by UCLA and USC to fall to 14-14 overall and 6-10 in conference play with a 68 RPI.

In women's hoop, the Bears swept USC and UCLA to improve to 22-7 overall and 12-6 in conference play with a 29 RPI. Sophomore center Devanei Hampton was named as the conference's player of the week.


WSU

In men's hoop, Wazzu lost to Oregon but defeated Oregon State to move to 23-5 overall and 12-4 in conference play with a 27 RPI. WSU received a verbal commitment from 6-10 center Fabian Boeke from Germany.

In women's hoop, the Cougars were swept by Oregon and Oregon State to drop to 5-23 overall and 1-17 in conference play with a 271 RPI.



USC

In men's hoop, the Trojans swept Stanford and California to improve to 21-8 overall and 11-5 in conference play with a 49 RPI.

In women's hoop, the Women of Troy were swept by Stanford and California to fall to 16-12 overall and 10-8 in conference play with a 70 RPI.
