Bushell Likes Four
Adrian Bushell is enjoying the Texas life. Since moving from Miami, FL, to Texas in January, the lightning quick Bushell says that life in the Lone Star State has been nothing but fun.DeSoto athlete
"I really like it here," exclaimed the 5-foot-11, 178-pound athlete. "I like DeSoto and Texas in general. I think we'll have a really good team here, like one of the top ones in the state, so I'm excited about that. I get along with my teammates really good, and I've just been liking it a lot. It's been real good."
Bushell wasted no time upon his arrival in January, immediately getting involved with the track program.
"I actually made it to regionals in the 110M hurdles," he explained. "I got 2nd at regionals and so I qualified for state. We actually just got back from state, but I didn't do so hot. I ran my worst time of the year and ended up getting like seventh or something. I ran a 14.6 and I had been running 14-flats, so that was kinda sorry."
However, now that track is out of the way, Bushell is turning his attention toward spring football.
"It's going good, we've got the spring game on Thursday," he answered when asked about spring football. "I'm going to start at corner and then on offense, I'm going to get a lot of playing time in the slot and at running back."
Bushell's diversity on the field has colleges looking at him on both sides of the ball.
"Right now I have written offers from Florida, Michigan, and Texas Tech," he explained. "I think Colorado's offer is in too, and a bunch of schools like Kansas, Texas A&M, SMU, and Alabama are sending offers soon. Florida and Michigan are recruiting me strictly as a corner, but Tech is recruiting me for whatever. Kind of like an athlete or whatever."
One might assume that Bushell's Florida background might make him a bit of a Gator lean. However, Bushell says that's not the case.
"I am definetly not a Florida lean," says Bushell, who spent most of his childhood in Florida. "I just want to play where I fit in the best. It doesn't matter where it is or what position I play, I just want to play."
So who does Bushell, who hopes to have a decision sometime in the fall, like at this point?
"I would say for sure my top three are Florida, Michigan, and Tech," he commented. "And West Virginia too, I've got a good friend who plays there, so I would say I like them too. So that's pretty much it. It's just a top four I guess."
As Bushell's highlight tape is seen by more and more coaches, and more schools catch on to his move from Florida to Texas, expect his offer sheet to explode, making him a tough get for whoever lands him.
