Like many basketball teams in February, there are several college football teams that are on the brink of earning an opportunity to play in the postseason. Odds are, many on this list will reach the six-win plateau necessary to qualify for a bowl bid. However, a few of these schools face a tough stretch to close the season.

Here's an alphabetical list of teams needing just one more victory to qualify for postseason eligibility. We'll update the list each week adding teams that make it to five wins and moving the newly bowl-eligible teams to the list on the bottom.

Rivals.com Bowl Bubble Watch
BALL STATE (5-5)
Remaining schedule: vs. Toledo; at Northern Illinois
Why they will make it: QB Nate Davis has thrown for more than 200 yards in eight games, and neither Toledo nor Northern Illinois is strong against the pass. They've combined to allow 40 touchdown passes.
Why they won't: The Cardinals have allowed at least 28 points in five games this season.
COLORADO (5-6)
Remaining schedule: vs. Nebraska
Why they will make it: Nebraska has won just one of its past six.
Why they won't: The Huskers' one win was in their last game and they scored 73 points.
FLORIDA ATLANTIC (5-4)
Remaining schedule: at Florida; at Florida International; at Troy
Why they will make it: You did see the entry that says "at Florida International," right?
Why they won't: The Owls' last three games are on the road, even if one of the road games is in Miami - about an hour from FAU's campus in Boca Raton.
KANSAS STATE (5-5)
Remaining schedule: vs. Missouri; at Fresno State
Why they will make it: WR Jordy Nelson is as dangerous as he is obscure.
Why they won't: A 73-31 loss to Nebraska doesn't inspire a lot of confidence.
LOUISVILLE (5-5)
Remaining schedule: at USF; vs. Rutgers.
Why they will make it: QB Brian Brohm is having an excellent season, and the Cardinals owe Rutgers some payback for thwarting their national-championship bid last year.
Why they won't: Louisville's defense allows 28.4 points per game, and USF and Rutgers each average more than 30.
MARYLAND (5-5)
Remaining schedule: at Florida State; at NC State.
Why they will make it: Hey, the Terps just knocked off Boston College.
Why they won't: Florida State beat BC, too.
MEMPHIS (5-5)
Remaining schedule: vs. UAB; vs. SMU.
Why they will make it: The Tigers' remaining opponents are the teams at the bottom of their divisions in Conference USA.
Why they won't: There could be a hangover after last week's upset of Southern Miss. But let's be honest: Losing to both UAB and SMU would require more than a hangover.
UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI (5-5)
Remaining schedule: at Virginia Tech; at Boston College
Why they will make it: Miami beat Florida State, which beat Boston College, so
Why they won't: Results against common opponents don't mean anything.
MIAMI UNIVERSITY (5-5)
Remaining schedule vs. Akron; at Ohio
Why they will make it: The RedHawks are 4-1 in the MAC.
Why they won't: The remaining opponents are intrastate rivals.
MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE (5-6)
Remaining schedule: at Troy
Why they will make it: QB Dwight Dasher is back from injury.
Why they won't: Though not 100 percent, Dasher was back from injury in last week's home loss to lowly Louisiana-Lafayette, too.
NEBRASKA (5-6)
Remaining schedule: at Colorado
Why they will make it: QB Joe Ganz has thrown 11 touchdown passes in two starts.
Why they won't: Imagine how many touchdown passes Ganz could throw if he were playing against Nebraska.
NEVADA (5-4)
Remaining schedule: vs. Hawaii; at San Jose State; vs. Louisiana Tech
Why they will make it: The Wolf Pack is on a three-game winning streak.
Why they won't: Nevada's Division I-A victories are over teams with a combined seven wins.
NORTH CAROLINA STATE (5-5)
Remaining schedule: at Wake Forest; vs. Maryland
Why they will make it: Wolfpack coach Tom O'Brien has taken his teams to eight consecutive bowl games.
Why they won't: All those bowl games were as Boston College's coach.
OHIO U. (5-6)
Remaining schedule: vs. Miami University
Why they will make it: The Bobcats play their decisive game at home.
Why they won't: They've already lost two home games, and Miami is out to win the MAC East title.
OKLAHOMA STATE (5-4)
Remaining schedule: at Baylor; at Oklahoma
Why they will make it: Baylor is on the schedule.
Why they won't: The Cowboys are just 1-3 on the road and face Baylor in Waco.
SOUTHERN MISS (5-5)
Remaining schedule: at UTEP; vs. Arkansas State
Why they will make it: Neither of Southern Miss' remaining opponents have a winning record.
Why they won't: Memphis, which upset Southern Miss last week, doesn't have a winning record, either.
TCU (5-5)
Remaining schedule: vs. UNLV; at San Diego State
Why they will make it: UNLV and San Diego State have combined for just six victories.
Why they won't: UNLV has lost six in a row, so the Rebels are due for a victory, right?
TOLEDO (5-5)
Remaining schedule: at Ball State; at Bowling Green
Why they will make it: The soaring Rockets have won their past three and have scored 165 points in that stretch.
Why they won't: Toledo allows an average of 39.3 points per game, which ranks 115th in the nation.
UCLA (5-5)
Remaining schedule: vs. Oregon; at USC
Why they will make it: The Bruins have rallied around embattled coach Karl Dorrell and are determined to save his job.
Why they won't: Oregon is trying to stay in the national-championship race, and USC wants revenge from last season.
VANDERBILT (5-5)
Remaining schedule: at Tennessee; vs. Wake Forest
Why they will make it: The Commodores lost to Georgia and Kentucky by a combined 10 points, which shows they aren't easy to beat.
Why they won't: Close losses are still losses.
WYOMING (5-5)
Remaining schedule: vs. BYU; at Colorado State
Why they will make it: As coach Joe Glenn's hand gesture to Utah coach Kyle Whittingham indicated, the Cowboys just need one win. At least, that's what I'm telling my son that hand gesture meant.
Why they won't: Four losses in five games doesn't inspire a lot of confidence.
