Ward headed back out West

Sophomore tight end NaDerris Ward will transfer from Georgia this summer. Ward, who is from Oakland, Calif., told a local paper that family health issues are drawing him back to the West Coast.

As first reported by UGASports.com last week, Ward will look into transferring to the University of Oregon or another Pac 10 school.

The Bulldogs' depth at tight end, led by senior Tripp Chandler returning as the starter, features one of the top young players at the position in Bruce Figgins, and the No. 1 rated tight end out of high school in redshirt freshman Aron White.

Head coach Mark Richt meets with the media Wednesday evening to preview spring camp which begins on Monday, March 3rd. He is expected to comment on the matter at that time.
