Top 10 NFL Draft boom or bust prospects

VIDEO: Boom or Bust? | Updated Mock Draft | Frank Coyle's Top 100

Here are 10 prospects draft analyst Frank Coyle thinks could be big stars. Problem is, these same players could fall flat on their faces.

Because of their wild-card nature, these players are being categorized as "boom or bust" prospects.

Rivals.com Top 10 boom or bust prospects
1. Brian Brohm, QB, Louisville
This talented passer once was considered a possible top-10 selection. He could be the second, third or fourth quarterback to go but he easily could slide into the second round. He has the look of this year's Brady Quinn and could be one of the draft's best values.
2. DeSean Jackson, WR, California
Jackson is a playmaker who flashes speed and impact ability, but many question whether he can hold up physically. Jackson, who came out a year early, figures to go late in the first round but could slide into the second.
3. Quentin Groves, DE, Auburn
This fast 'tweener pass rusher brings big-play ability off the edge. He has dealt with some heart irregularities that present some health issues. He also has some positional questions related to playing end in a 4-3 scheme or up as a linebacker in a 3-4 set.
4. Mario Manningham, WR, Michigan
The junior was considered a sure first-round pick before a poor NFL Combine and some off-field issues cropped up. He had a fine effort at a late pro day, but may still fall to the second round.
5. Kellen Davis, TE, Michigan State
Davis is an imposing athlete with huge upside. However, he needs more experience at the position. He is capable of being a Pro Bowl-caliber performer. Right now, he's an inconsistent raw prospect who is a much better athlete than football player.
6. Anthony Collins, OT, Kansas
He's a big, mobile tackle who has the tools to become a fine NFL blocker. However, he entered the NFL Draft a year early and finds himself in a great class of tackle prospects. Because of the talent available this year, Collins could fall to the third round. He could be the steal of the draft there with time to develop.
7. Donnie Avery, WR, Houston
His elite speed probably gets him drafted in the top 50, though he's a risky prospect there because his overall game needs work.
8. Dre Moore, DT, Maryland
Athletic tackle has flashed explosiveness on the inside, and that has moved him into the early rounds. Still, his periods of inconsistency are disturbing and make him one of the riskiest top-100 selections on the board.
9. Carl Nicks, OT, Nebraska
This massive, wide-bodied lineman is a fast-rising prospect after having a big 2007 season. The problem is he only has one year as a full-time starter. He could be in the second tier of linemen and might even move into the top 50, but he would be a risky selection that early.
10. Beau Bell, LB, UNLV
Bell is an athletic linebacker who has the ability to make an impact early. He could be one of the surprise NFL rookies in the right setting (like a 3-4 scheme). However, he still must prove he can perform against NFL-caliber blockers and has to find a team that's a good fit.
