Pac-Tending 06-18-08

"Anderson the freshman outlasts the real McCoy!"

- CBS College Sports television commentator, Ian Eagle, giving the call at the wire in last week's NCAA Track and Field Championship when Wazzu's Jeshua Anderson won the 400-meter hurdle title over Auburn's Rueben McCoy.

The championship season is almost over at the Creek as only Stanford remains alive for a baseball championship.

An updated version of the 2007-08 Director's Cup standings were released and once again, 13-time defending champ Stanford has clinched their 14th title while the rest of the Pac-10 comes in the Top 90 - including eight Pac-10 schools in the Top 40.

Meanwhile, at NCAA HQ, enough requests have been received to reconsider legislation which had eliminated opportunities for men's basketball coaches to evaluate at non-scholastic events in April and the NCAA launched a channel on YouTube.
