The championship run for the Creek continues as Pac-10 teams still sit at or near the top of national polls in football [USC #1], soccer [UCLA#2] and volleyball [UCLA #4].

Meanwhile, at NCAA HQ, the Top 30 Woman of the Year honorees have been announced and Stanford track and field athlete Arianna Lambie will try to repeat for the conference in 2008 [the 2007 winner was Arizona swimmer, Whitney Myers].





UCLA

In football, linebacker Kyle Bosworth is expected to miss this week's game with a knee injury.

In football, linebacker Chad Lindsey and defensive back Grant Crunkleton have left the team.



Arizona

In men's hoop, guard Abdul Gaddy re-committed to the Wildcats and head coach Lute Olson is under NCAA investigation.



Oregon State

In men's hoop, guard Roberto Nelson gave a verbal commitment to the Beavers.



USC

In football, junior defensive back Shareece Wright was charged with a felony for resisting arrest.




WSU

In football, the Cougars lost to Baylor, to remain winless on the year at 0-3 overall.

In soccer, 33rd-ranked Wazzu defeated UC-Santa Barbara and lost to Pepperdine to move to 2-2-3 overall on the year.

In volleyball, the Cougars lost to Wichita State but defeated Montana State and Northwestern to improve to 6-4 overall on the year.

In women's hoop, Wazzu received a verbal commitment from 6-5 center Carly Noyes from Moses Lake.



Oregon

In football, quarterback Justin Roper is out for two weeks with a knee injury.



California

In football, the Bears lost to Maryland, 35-27.



Washington

In football, running back Chris Polk is out for the season with a shoulder injury and Washington received a verbal commitment from fullback Zach Fogerson.



Stanford

In football, the Cardinal lost to TCU, 31-14.
