Hawkeyes land four-star OL
Andrew Donnal decided to up it to 100-percent. The 6-foot-7, 285-pound Donnal, who hails from Whitehouse, Ohio, made the call today and gave his verbal commitment to the Hawkeyes. One week after saying there was a 75-percent chance that he was going to Iowa, four-star offensive lineman
"I committed to Iowa," said Donnal. "I talked to Coach Ferentz and Coach Morgan this morning and they were really excited to hear the news. They said they've got a really good class coming in and they're glad to have me be a part of it."
Donnal chose the Hawkeyes over scholarship offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Maryland, Virginia, Wisconsin, Illinois, South Carolina, West Virginia, N.C. State, and a number of others. What it came down to, according to the four-star prospect, was the comfort level he found in Iowa City.
"The main thing was I just felt really comfortable at Iowa every time that I visited," Donnal said. "The coaches are great and the players have nothing but good things to say about it, so I think it's going to be a great fit. Plus if you're a lineman, Iowa is definitely one of the best places you can go."
Donnal, who Rivals.com ranks at No. 127 among their current top 250 prospects nationally, said his decision is final and he is happy to be a Hawkeye.
"It feels great. It's a big load off my shoulders," said Donnal. "I picked a great school and I'm really confident in my decision."
With Donnal on board, Iowa is now up to ten verbal commitments in the Class of 2010.
