It was announced on Thursday that Michigan will be traveling to Chapel Hill to face North Carolina in this November’s Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Surprisingly, the Tar Heels hold just a 9-9 all-time record in the challenge (an 0-4 start didn’t help), which began in 1999.
Michigan, on the other hand, owns a 7-9 record, and will be looking to inch a game closer to .500 this November when it travels to Chapel Hill.
The Wolverines faced a bit of a rough stretch in the challenge from 2006-2011, when it lost four in a row and five of six. Since 2012, however, Michigan owns a 3-2 record in the event.
During his time at Michigan, head coach John Beilein has compiled an overall record of 4-6 in the late autumn showdown.
