Big Ten extends championship venues

The Big Ten has locked in future football championship games in Indianapolis, while extending the Big Ten Basketball Tournament in both Indianapolis and Chicago.
The Big Ten Football Championship Game stays at Lucas Oil Stadium through the 2021 season. The men's basketball tournament, meanwhile, continues rotating between Chicago and Indianapolis, Chicago's United Center getting the 2019 and 2021 events and Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis hosting the gatherings in 2020 and 2022.

Bankers Life Fieldhouse also features the Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament, from 2017 through 2022.
The men's basketball tournament heads back to Chicago next spring, and to Indianapolis in the spring of 2016, before moving east for the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C., in 2017. The site of the 2018 tournament has yet to be announced.
"The Big Ten Conference and member institutions are excited to return to Chicago and Indianapolis for future football championship games and basketball tournaments," said Big Ten Commissioner James E. Delany. "These two cities have been tremendous hosts and partners with first-class facilities and an outstanding base of Big Ten alumni and fans who support conference events. We are proud of the history that we have developed with these two great cities and look forward to maintaining a significant presence in both locations."
