Breaking down the Big Tens new divisions
The Big Ten is entering its third season as a divisional conference, having split up the teams into Legends and Leaders when Nebraska joined the fold in 2011.
That looks like it's about to change. When Rutgers and Maryland begin competing in the Big Ten in 2014, the conference will be split geographically, into East and West divisions.

The West Division will be comprised of all six teams in the Central Time Zone - Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois and Northwestern - plus the western-most team that is still in the Eastern Time Zone, Purdue.
The East Division will include the two newcomers, Rutgers and Maryland, plus Michigan, Ohio State, Indiana, Michigan State and Penn State.
