Michigan guard Caris LeVert will miss eight to 10 weeks this summer recovering from a foot injury, head coach John Beilein reported. The junior to be averaged 12.9 points per game, 4.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists as a sophomore, shooting 40.8 percent from three-point range in a breakout season.
"Caris underwent surgery today for a stress fracture of his foot at the University of Michigan hospital," Beilein said in a released statement. "He is doing well and we expect him to make a full recovery in about 8 to 10 weeks. We are confident he will participate in our late summer training and play in our August trip to Europe."
LeVert earned second-team all-Big Ten honors after working with departed sophomore Nik Stauskas and trainer Jon Sanderson. He's expected to be the Wolverines' top scorer in 2014-15 after opting to return for his third year.
