Atlanta Hapeville Charter three-star cornerback Christopher Smith has never been to Ann Arbor before but that's about to change next week. The No. 47 cornerback and No. 41 player in Georgia is ready to see what U-M is all about.

"Michigan is recruiting me pretty hard and I'm very interested in them," Smith said. "I'll be on campus on March 29."

The 6-0, 165-pounder is very anxious to get to Michigan and, even though he's never been to Ann Arbor before, is already excited about what he'll get to see.

"The plan is to see what Michigan is like," he said. "I've never been before so it'll be great. I'll only be staying for a day. I think the team will be practicing that day so I'll take that in and tour the campus."

It's clear that Michigan has Smith's attention and a successful visit next week could put U-M in the driver's seat for him. With offers from schools like Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Tennessee, USC, West Virginia, Wisconsin and more, competition for him will be stiff but Michigan could set the bar high next Wednesday.
