Dytarious Johnson Intends To Sign With Michigan Football

When Michigan concluded its "Signing of the Stars" event today there was one noticeable name missing from the ceremony -- three-star linebacker Dytarious Johnson. However, according to the local paper in Alabama, Johnson intends to sign with the Wolverines.

The 5-11, 215-pounder committed to the Maize and Blue over the summer, but sources told TheWolverine.com a month ago that there were academic concerns in regards to Johnson. According to the Montgomery Advertiser, it's a transcript problem.

From the article: "Prattville High coach Chad Anderson said school plans to have a second ceremony for Johnson and other players in the near future.

“'The coaches from (Michigan) have been really good with us,'” Anderson said about the transcript situation. “'Their academic compliance has been good with us. Just trying to get it all sorted out so he’ll be taken care of. If he choose to, you’ll see him in Michigan uniform for sure.'"

Johnson committed to Michigan June 6, 2015, following the U-M Satellite Camp staged at Johnson's high school in Prattville, Ala. He picked Michigan over Syracuse, Memphis and Troy.

In two seasons for Prattville, he racked up 146 tackles starting at middle linebacker and was named Class 7A first-team all-state as a senior in 2015.
